The Human Wealth™ Formula

Traditional finance measures what you have. Human Wealth™ measures what you generate. Borrowing from physics, your HW Number captures the kinetic energy produced when your total resource base is activated through purposeful living.

HW = ½× 2

Tap m or v to see what they represent

Mass (m) — Potential Energy

Integration

The Engine — your psycho-physical substrate

Resources

The Inputs — socio-economic soil

Mass represents your stored potential — the resources and internal capacity available to you. High mass without velocity means resources sitting idle.

Velocity (v) — Performance

Systems

The Processes — purposeful action

Wellbeing

The Outputs — quality of life as lived

Velocity is squared because performance compounds — small improvements in how you engage with life create outsized gains in your HW Number.

Why Physics?

In classical mechanics, kinetic energy is the energy an object possesses due to its motion. An object at rest has potential but produces nothing — it needs velocity to generate energy. The formula HW = ½mv² captures a fundamental truth: energy comes from the interaction of mass and velocity, not from either alone.

Human Wealth™ applies this insight directly. A person with abundant resources (high mass) but no engagement, autonomy, or purpose (low velocity) is in Golden Stagnation — wealthy on paper, impoverished in experience. Conversely, someone with high engagement but no financial foundation is running on fumes.

Critically, velocity is squared. This is not arbitrary — it reflects the empirical reality that performance compounds. Small improvements in how you engage with life, pursue goals, and connect with community create outsized gains in overall Human Wealth™.

Mass vs. Velocity

Mass (m) — Potential Energy

Your stored capacity. The raw material from which Human Wealth™ is generated. Mass alone is inert — it must be activated by Velocity.

Velocity (v) — Performance

The rate at which potential is converted into lived experience. Velocity is squared because performance gains compound exponentially.

The System Efficiency Ratio

Your HW Number tells you how much energy your system generates. But the System Efficiency Ratio (SER) tells you how efficiently you convert potential into performance — Velocity divided by Mass.

A high SER means you are a High Performance Engine — generating significant experiential output relative to your baseline resources. A low SER signals Golden Stagnation — high resources failing to translate into lived experience due to systemic friction.

What Your HW Number Means

Your HW Number is not a grade — it is a diagnostic. It captures the perceived kinetic energy generated by your total resource base. A higher HW Number means your 16 Elements are working in concert — your resources are activated, your systems are engaged, and you are experiencing the life you have the capacity to live.

The goal is not to maximize the score, but to understand the shape of your wealth — where mass is sitting idle, where velocity can be increased, and where systemic friction is dampening your output.
